Salut, I’m Jenna!

Growing up, I had my head in the clouds & my nose in a book. I dreamed of adventure and often felt stuck in the mundane of my very ordinary life.
I was born and raised in small town Montana, USA. My story sounds kind of cliche. I fell in love with my best friend, we started dating in high school and married in our early 20’s. We bought a house and settled down. But that’s where the cliche ends.
At the end of 2017 we packed up some of our things and moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where we lived in a camper trailer. Thus began our semi-nomadic life.
I’ve always had a wanderlust heart. I initially started this site as a travel blog – it’s a huge passion of mine and one I want to share. Growing up, I was lucky to travel much of the U.S. and I have been able to go on some great trips, but I don’t travel full time and that makes for a pretty boring blog.
As I turned 30 and with the birth of my son, I did begin to find a new appreciation and beauty in the simple things in life. I realized that, while life will never be a fantasy and will always have boring, messy bits, I can create a romantic life where I’m at.
So that’s what this blog is. A journey of sorts, to create a life of travel, of beauty. Add a dash of French living, some history, and adventure, et voila! You have Elegant Vagabond.
